Blue Monarch at Madeline's

Blue Monarch is a nonprofit residential community in Monteagle, Tennessee, set on roughly 50 acres, that gives women and their children a long-term place to rebuild after addiction, abuse, and hardship. Its granola is sold under the name Out of the Blue and is baked on site by the women in the program, who learn a trade and build a work history while they are there.

The brand calls it Granola with a Purpose, and that purpose is built into the packaging: each bag carries a photo and a short recovery story of the woman who baked it. Purchases support the program directly. Blue Monarch took over the granola business in 2015 and has run it as part of its job-training work since.
