How shipping works at Madeline's

Madeline's is an online farmstand. Every product is listed under the independent maker who makes it, and that maker packs and ships its own box. There is no warehouse in the middle.

One cart, one checkout, several boxes

You can mix as many makers as you like in one order and check out once. Each maker ships its own items, so an order from three makers arrives as three packages, each with its own tracking number, usually on different days.

What shipping costs

Shipping is each maker's own rate, passed through with no markup. You see every maker's rate before you pay. For one item it is usually in the range of $8 to $15, and anything else from the same maker rides in the same box, so adding a second item from a maker rarely adds shipping.

Orders over $50 ship free. The discount applies automatically at checkout and covers each maker's rate up to $15 per shipment. Where a maker's rate is higher than that (heavy or cold-chain items, for example), the difference is shown before you pay.

When things ship

Shipping times depend on what each artisan or farmer can do. Some ship the day after an order, some bake, cure or harvest to order. We do not publish delivery dates for that reason. When a maker has told us something specific about their timing, it appears on the product page and in your cart.

Perishables (cheese, cured meat, fresh pasta, seafood and similar) go out Monday to Wednesday in insulated packaging with ice packs, so they are not sitting in a truck over a weekend. Some perishable makers add a small cold pack charge, shown as its own line in your cart.

Where makers ship

Most makers ship anywhere in the United States. Some do not ship perishables to Alaska, Hawaii or very hot climates in summer, and a few ship internationally. If a maker cannot ship to your address, checkout tells you before you pay.

Tracking

You get a shipping confirmation with tracking for each package as the maker sends it.

If something goes wrong

If a package is late, damaged, or missing, email [email protected] with your order number and a photo if there is one. We work it out directly with the maker and reply within one to two business days.

Corporate and bulk orders
