Chicago-Style Italian Beef Sandwiches

Classic Chicago Italian beef sandwiches dipped and drizzled with the artful sauces from the Chicago Sauce Set.

Ingredients

  • 3 lbs beef chuck roast
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 6 Italian sub rolls or hoagie rolls
  • 1 jar roasted red peppers, sliced
  • Chicago Sauce Set (all three sauces)

Instructions

  1. Season beef with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes.
  2. Sear the beef on all sides over medium-high heat, about 8-10 minutes total.
  3. Add onions and garlic, cooking for 2 minutes.
  4. Pour in beef broth and bring to a simmer.
  5. Cover and simmer for 2.5-3 hours until meat shreds easily.
  6. Shred beef finely and return to broth.
  7. Toast rolls lightly, fill with beef.
  8. Top with roasted red peppers and Chicago Sauce Set sauces.
