Dry-Rubbed Smoked Baby Back Ribs

Fall-off-the-bone tender ribs coated with the Pitmaster BBQ Rib Rub, slow-smoked to perfection for an unforgettable backyard feast.

Prep Time: 15 min  |  Cook Time: 300 min  |  Servings: 6 servings

Ingredients

  • 2 racks baby back ribs (about 4-5 lbs total)
  • 1/4 cup Pitmaster BBQ Rib Rub
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 cup wood chips (hickory or oak), soaked
  • 1/2 cup apple juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Remove the thin membrane from the back of the ribs by sliding a knife underneath and peeling it away.
  2. Pat ribs dry with paper towels and lightly coat with olive oil.
  3. Generously apply the Pitmaster BBQ Rib Rub to both sides of the ribs, pressing gently so it adheres.
  4. Set up your smoker for 225-250°F and add soaked wood chips.
  5. Place ribs bone-side down on the grates and smoke for 4-5 hours, spritzing with apple juice every hour.
  6. Ribs are done when meat pulls back from the bones and a toothpick slides through easily.
  7. Let rest for 10 minutes, then slice between bones and serve.
