These 2-inch Nails for Boxes are galvanized, hand-driven nails sized for assembling bee boxes securely. The flat head helps draw the sides and front of a box together, and the galvanized finish resists corrosion and rust so boxes last.
At a glance
- Type: Box assembly nail, hand-driven
- Length: 2 inches
- Finish: Galvanized to resist corrosion and rust
- Use rate (medium box): 16 to 24 nails
- Use rate (deep box): 20 to 36 nails
- Best paired with: Wood glue for the strongest joints
Best for
- Assembling new deep and medium bee boxes
- Repairing boxes that have loosened
- Beekeepers assembling woodenware by hand
- Building hive equipment without a nail gun
How to use
Drive the nails through the box sides into the front and back with a hammer. To reduce splitting, predrill the holes or lightly blunt the nail point before driving. Adding wood glue is strongly recommended, since boxes can swell and buckle with changing weather even with good nails. For frame assembly, use the 1 1/4-inch nails for frames instead.
