Apivar 2.0 Varroa Mite Strips

Apivar 2.0 is a synthetic varroa mite treatment strip with 3.00% amitraz, used to control mite populations in honey bee colonies. Bees contact the strips, pick up the active ingredient, and spread it through the hive, killing mites without harming brood, queens, or adult bees when used as directed.

At a glance

• Active ingredient: 3.00% amitraz by weight (16% less than the original)
• Control window: Significant mite drop in 2 to 3 weeks; effective 6 to 10 weeks (70 days max)
• Withholding: Zero-day; honey supers can be added immediately after strip removal
• Design: Built-in hangers, adjustable length for Langstroth, Dadant, or Layens hives
• Strip size: 11.1" long x 1.6" wide x 0.04" thick, with a pre-scored fold line
• Packaging: 4, 12, or 60 strips (treats 2, 6, or 30 colonies)

Best for

• Summer or fall mite control before winter bees are raised
• Spring treatment before honey supers go on
• Warm climates where temperature limits other treatments
• Hobbyist and commercial varroa management plans

How to use

Use 1 strip per 5 frames of bees in the brood chamber, hanging strips in the heart of the brood nest. Remove honey supers before treatment, and remove strips after the treatment period without exceeding 70 days. Unopened packs have a 2-year shelf life; store cool, dry, and out of direct sunlight, and use within 2 weeks once opened.

Important: Always follow label directions for safe and effective use.

Shipping restrictions: Cannot be shipped outside the United States. Cannot be shipped to California, Connecticut, Colorado, Iowa, Kentucky, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, or Virginia. Cannot be shipped to APO, AE, or AP military addresses.
