Bee Pro Protein Patties

Bee-Pro Protein Patties are a ready-to-feed pollen substitute that supports brood production and colony growth when natural pollen is limited. Each patty goes directly into the hive, where bees consume it, and includes a Pro-Health additive to support digestion and encourage consumption.

At a glance

• Type: Pollen-substitute protein patty
• Protein: Not less than 12% per patty
• Size: Approximately 1 lb (454 g) each
• Additive: Pro-Health to support digestion and patty consumption
• Use: Ready to feed, no mixing, not weather dependent
• Benefit: Manufacturer reports about 1 1/2 to 3 more frames of brood versus control hives

Best for

• Early spring colony buildup
• Feeding when natural pollen is scarce
• Stimulating brood rearing and population growth
• Hobbyist and commercial colony nutrition

How to use

Place a patty directly on the top bars inside the hive so bees can feed. A common best practice is to cut patties into 1 to 2 inch strips so bees consume them quickly, since uneaten feed can attract small hive beetles. Feed thoughtfully, as rapid growth can encourage early swarming.
