About This Tin

The "Tarantello" cut is a rich and fatty section of the tuna belly, just behind the more commonly eaten "Ventresca" part of the belly. This meatier and more mild tasting portion of the belly is imbued with delicious, silky fat.

Every year during the summer months, schools of Thunnus alalunga make their way into the Bay of Biscay. It is during this time that local fishermen catch these beautiful fish and sell them, the same day, at the local market.

Artesanos Alalunga use only the premier fish from these summer catches to craft their expert-level tins.
