How to grow
Sow seeds 1/2 inch deep in flats 6 to 8 weeks before the last frost, with a soil temperature of 70 to 85 F for germination in 6 to 12 days. Thin to 2 inches apart after the first true leaves appear, then harden off and transplant after the last frost into fertile, well-draining soil with a pH of 5.5 to 7.0 in full sun. Space plants 15 to 36 inches apart, stake or cage the 5 to 7 foot vines, and soak the soil 4 to 6 inches deep at 7-day intervals. Harvest when the fruit gives slightly under finger pressure.
