Catnip (Nepeta cataria) is the classic herb known for making cats go crazy, and it has been used in traditional medicine for generations. Similar to mint or basil, it grows as an easygoing, non-invasive low bush and forms small white flowers at full maturity. The leaves make a soothing herbal tea for cold and flu symptoms.
