How to grow

Sow in fall or spring at 1/4" deep, using about 1/4 lb per 1,000 square feet. Germination takes 20-25 days. Thin to 6" to 8" apart once plants reach 2" tall. Grow in partial sun with moderate water; this annual tolerates poor drainage well. Plants reach 2' to 4' and bloom heavily through summer and fall.

Flavor profile

The petals are mild and mainly add bright color to salads and garnishes rather than strong flavor. Enjoy them fresh as an edible accent.
