Cypress Spacer and Feeder Rim

The Cypress Spacer and Feeder Rim is a versatile cypress hive component that works as a feeder rim, treatment platform, upper entrance, or winter quilt board. Pre-drilled top holes with removable screens and a full bottom screen support feeding, ventilation, moisture control, and varroa treatment placement throughout the year.

At a glance

• Type: Multi-use hive spacer and feeder rim
• Material: Cypress
• Top: Pre-drilled holes with removable screens for airflow or an upper entrance
• Bottom: Full screen that supports feeders, treatments, or absorbent material
• Feeding: Creates clearance for baggie or top feeders
• Winter ready: Holds fondant or dry sugar above the cluster

Best for

• Top feeding with baggie feeders or top feeders
• Winter feeding with fondant or dry sugar
• Adding ventilation, an upper entrance, or moisture control
• Placing varroa treatments near the brood nest

How to use

Set the rim on top of the hive box. Leave the top screens in place for ventilation or remove them for an upper entrance. Place baggie feeders, fondant, dry sugar, or treatments such as HopGuard, Formic Pro, or Apiguard on the bottom screen, where bees can reach them. Add absorbent material like wood chips to collect condensation and keep it from dripping onto the cluster.
