How to grow

Start seeds indoors 6 to 8 weeks before the last frost, or sow directly 2 to 3 weeks before the last frost. Thyme grows in most soils but performs best in well-drained soil with moderate nutrients; soil that is too rich makes plants leggy. Lightly pinch developing plants to encourage bushiness, and harvest leaves once the plant is established. Use fresh, or dry and store in an airtight container.

Flavor profile

Warm, savory, and aromatic, thyme adds depth to dishes built on oils and fats and is said to aid their digestion.
