Extra Long J Hook Hive Tool

The Extra Long J Hook Hive Tool is an 11 1/2-inch J-hook tool with an extended blade and a gentler hook angle for added reach and smoother frame lifting. The longer blade gives extra leverage when prying frames or separating boxes during inspections.

At a glance

• Type: J-hook hive tool
• Length: 11 1/2 inches
• Blade: Longer blade for added leverage
• Hook: Less-angled J-hook for smoother lifting
• Use: Prying frames and separating boxes

Best for

• Beekeepers who prefer a longer hive tool
• Reaching deep inside the hive
• Smoother, lower-resistance frame lifting
• Prying stubborn equipment apart

How to use

Slide the J-hook under a frame's lug or end bar and lift with a smooth, controlled motion, using the extended length for leverage. Use the opposite end to scrape propolis and pry boxes apart. Wipe the tool clean after use to keep it free of propolis.
