Fresh Birmingham Bee Pollen

Fresh Birmingham Bee Pollen is local, fresh-harvested pollen gathered from the trees, grasses, and wildflowers around Birmingham, Alabama. Each container is a mosaic of colored granules, where every color is a different flower species. Sold in 4 oz and 8 oz containers, it is fresh and undried for a naturally soft, powdery texture.

How to use

Start with just a couple of granules and gradually increase as your body acclimates; a common serving is less than 1/2 teaspoon (one ounce is about 2 1/2 tablespoons). Keep the pollen frozen at all times, since the natural moisture content will cause it to spoil at room temperature.

Flavor profile

Because the granules come from many different flowers, the flavor is a varied mosaic: lightly floral and slightly sweet with subtle nutty, earthy, and bittersweet notes that shift from one color of granule to the next.
