- Beekeepers wanting cordless, portable vaporization
- Those who already own compatible slide-in tool batteries
- Winter, post-swarm, and requeening brood breaks
How to use
Vaporization is most effective when the hive is without capped brood, since oxalic acid cannot penetrate wax cappings. Good times include winter, after collecting a swarm, after a colony swarms, and during requeening brood breaks. Insert the stem through the front entrance or a drilled hole in the back, fill the plunger with oxalic acid, and let it vaporize. Avoid Dewalt Powerstack batteries and use recognized brand batteries for best results. Wear protective gear to avoid breathing oxalic acid fumes.
