- Growing: No paddy needed, just keep damp
- Moisture: Loves wet, well-watered soil
- Harvest: Thresh and winnow the seed heads
- Sun: Full sun

- Self-sufficiency and homesteading
- Wet or boggy garden spots
- Educational and novelty growing

How to grow
Start seeds in warm conditions and keep the soil constantly damp or shallowly flooded in full sun. Once the plants form seed heads, knock the grains into a bowl, thresh to separate seed from chaff, then winnow to clean the rice. Harvest before heavy frost.
