Long Wire Spur Embedder Wheel

The Long Wire Spur Embedder Wheel is a manual hand tool that presses frame crosswires into 100% beeswax foundation using pressure rather than heat. Rolling the spur wheel along each wire embeds it cleanly into the wax for a smooth, reliable foundation install, with no electricity required.

At a glance

• Type: Manual spur-style wire embedder
• Use: Embeds metal crosswires into beeswax foundation
• Method: Pressure, not heat
• Best conditions: Room temperature, when wax is pliable
• Design: Spur wheel embeds wires without cutting the wax
• Operation: Roll along the wire with steady, even pressure

Best for

• Installing beeswax foundation into wired wooden frames
• Beekeepers who prefer a no-electricity method
• Securing crosswires cleanly into wax
• Frame assembly at room temperature

How to use

Place the wax foundation in the frame on a flat wooden surface with the wires facing up. Roll the spur wheel along each wire with steady, gentle pressure to press it into the wax. Work at room temperature so the wax stays flexible, and avoid pressing too hard, which can slice the wire through the wax.
