How to grow
Sow directly in the garden in fall or spring, scattering seed and barely covering to about 1/16 inch, since it does not transplant well. Germination takes 15 to 30 days. Thin seedlings to 6 to 8 inches apart in partial sun and adaptable soil with moderate water. Deadhead spent flowers to prolong summer bloom, and for cut flowers prune when the top buds open.
