How to grow
Sow 1/4 inch deep in warm soil between 70 and 90°F; germination takes 8 to 14 days. Grow in full sun in fertile, well-drained soil with ample calcium and phosphorus, thinning to 12 to 18 inches apart. Letting the top leaves touch slightly helps shade fruit and roots in summer heat, and mulch keeps soil cool. Harvest green or, for the sweetest flavor, wait until the peppers ripen red.
Flavor profile
Rich and sweet with no heat, deepening as the fruit ripens red; thin walls make it excellent for frying and fresh eating.
