Premium Douglas Fir Orchid Bark

Premium Douglas Fir Orchid Bark from Elm Dirt is a professional-grade growing medium that gives orchids the drainage and airflow they need. Its natural chunky texture mimics an orchid's epiphytic habitat, balancing air pockets with moisture retention to help prevent root rot.

At a glance

• Professional-grade Douglas Fir orchid bark
• Chunky texture for superior drainage and aeration
• Helps prevent root rot from waterlogged roots
• Naturally maintains the slightly acidic pH orchids prefer
• Resists decomposition, so you repot less often

Best for

• Phalaenopsis, Cattleya, Dendrobium, and other orchids
• Bromeliads and other epiphytic plants
• Repotting orchids that need better airflow
• Growers wanting a long-lasting bark medium

How to use

Use as a standalone potting medium for orchids and epiphytes. Repot into a container of bark, settling roots among the chunks for support and airflow. Water so excess drains freely and roots are never left sitting in water.
