Pest Wizard Yellow Scale Trap Kit

The Pest Wizard Yellow Scale Trap Kit is a complete, chemical-free monitoring system that pairs sticky traps with pheromone lures to catch male yellow scale (Aonidiella citrina) on citrus. Trapping males so they cannot mate gives organic citrus growers a way to detect and track this damaging scale before infestations escalate.

At a glance

• Type: Complete trap kit (traps plus lures)
• Kit contains: 2 sticky traps, 2 thirty-day lures, and 2 hangers
• Target: Male yellow scale (Aonidiella citrina)
• Lure life: 30-day lures
• Host: Citrus trees
• Placement: Hang at shoulder height inside the host tree

Best for

• Monitoring citrus orchards and trees for scale
• Catching males before they mate
• Early detection so growers can act before infestations escalate
• Citrus IPM programs
• Year-round monitoring in mild climates

How to use

Peel the cover paper off each trap rapidly at an angle and attach the lure. Hang the trap at shoulder height inside the citrus tree. The pheromone draws male scales, which stick to the trap and die. Replace lures about every 30 days and swap traps as needed through the season.
