Queen Excluder with Wood Frame

The Queen Excluder with Wood Frame is a 10-frame wire excluder set in a durable wooden frame. Placed between the brood box and honey supers, its wire grid keeps the queen confined to the brood area while letting worker bees move freely, helping keep brood out of the honey harvest.

At a glance

• Type: Wood-framed wire queen excluder
• Size: 10-frame, fits standard 10-frame Langstroth equipment
• Frame: Durable wooden outer frame for stability and handling
• Grid: Wire center sized to pass workers but stop the queen
• Bee space: Grid spaced to allow movement above and below
• Function: Keeps eggs and brood out of honey supers

Best for

• Keeping brood out of honey supers for cleaner harvests
• 10-frame Langstroth hives
• Confining the queen to the brood box
• Simplifying honey harvesting

How to use

Place the excluder between the brood box and the first honey super, usually when honey boxes are added in early spring. The wooden frame provides bee space on either side so workers can move through while the queen stays below.
