How to grow

Direct seed 1 inch deep in early spring as soon as the soil can be worked and has warmed to about 50 degrees, with germination in 7 to 10 days. Grow in full sun in well-drained, fertile, slightly acidic to neutral soil and thin to 2 inches apart. Provide a fence or trellis at planting for best yields and easier picking, and keep plants well watered. Hold the vine while harvesting to avoid tearing, and pick when pods are almost rounded for peak sweetness.
