How to grow

Sow seeds in flats 6 to 8 weeks before the last frost, 1/4 inch deep, with germination in 7 to 14 days at 70 to 80 degrees. Thin to 2 inches apart after the first true leaves appear, then harden off and transplant after the last frost. Plant at least two tomatillos for cross-pollination and good fruit set, spacing plants 30 inches apart in full sun in fertile soil. Harvest when the husk begins to split or the fruit fills it out.

Flavor profile

Bright and tangy with firm, slightly tart flesh that anchors zesty green sauces.
