Ingredients
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 2 Earl Grey tea bags, steeped and cooled
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Zest of 1 lemon
- 2 tablespoons cold water (from steeped tea)
Instructions
- Steep 2 Earl Grey tea bags in 2 tablespoons hot water for 5 minutes, then remove bags and let cool completely.
- Cream together softened butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
- Mix in the cooled tea liquid and lemon zest until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour and salt.
- Fold dry ingredients into the wet mixture until a dough forms.
- Roll dough between parchment paper to 1/4-inch thickness and cut into desired shapes.
- Bake at 325°F for 10-12 minutes until edges are just golden, then cool on a wire rack.
