How to grow

Sow seed directly in well-drained soil enriched with organic matter at a pH of 6.0 to 7.0. Avoid excess nitrogen, which encourages tops over roots. Radishes need cool weather for best root development, so sow wherever there is extra space in spring or fall. Harvest while roots are young and under 1 inch across, and store in the refrigerator for 1 to 2 weeks.

Flavor profile

Mild and slightly peppery with a crisp, refreshing bite. The green tops carry a similar peppery kick and can be cooked like other greens.
