How to grow
Plant in fertile, loose, well-drained soil once soil reaches 60°F or higher, sowing seed 1 inch deep. Maintain consistent moisture and mulch to retain hydration and control weeds. Harvest when pods are plump and about 80 to 90% filled, just before they turn yellow. Fresh pods keep 7 to 10 days refrigerated or can be blanched and frozen.
Flavor profile
Sweet and nutty with a tender, satisfying texture, best enjoyed steamed and lightly salted.
