How to grow

Start seeds indoors 4 weeks before transplanting, or sow directly as soon as soil is workable, 1/8" to 1/4" deep. Add plenty of compost, give full sun (with afternoon shade in hot climates), and water evenly and moderately to prevent bitterness. Make successive plantings every 10 to 14 days for a continuous harvest, and pick heads young and crisp.
