Pest Wizard Light Brown Apple Moth Trap Kit

The Pest Wizard Light Brown Apple Moth Trap Kit is a complete monitoring system that pairs colored traps with pheromone lures to catch adult light brown apple moths (Epiphyas postvittana). Trapping males before they mate helps organic growers monitor this broad-host, quarantine pest and reduce damage to fruit and foliage.

At a glance

• Type: Complete trap kit (traps plus lures)
• Target: Light brown apple moth (Epiphyas postvittana)
• Lure life: Replace lures every 30 days
• Trap replacement: Replace traps once saturated beyond about 70 percent
• Placement: Hang at shoulder height near at-risk crops
• Note: A quarantine species, mainly active in California and Hawaii; local agricultural rules may apply

Best for

• Monitoring apples and the moth's many other host crops
• Year-round trapping where the pest is established
• Catching males before they mate and lay eggs
• Orchard, vineyard, and garden IPM programs
• Tracking population trends through the season

How to use

Place a lure inside a trap and hang it at shoulder height near at-risk or affected crops, where color and pheromone draw adult males. Replace lures every 30 days and swap traps once they are more than about 70 percent full. Because this is a quarantine species, check whether your local agricultural department requires reporting, and favor practices that protect beneficial insects.
