Small Sugar Pumpkin Seeds (Organic)
Small Sugar Pumpkin Seeds (Organic)
Small Sugar is an organic heirloom pie pumpkin (Cucurbita pepo), a standard since the 1800s prized for sweet, fine-grained, stringless flesh. The deeply ribbed, dark orange fruit grows 6 to 9 inches across and weighs 5 to 8 pounds, a manageable size for baking, canning, and fall decor. Compact vines make it a good fit for smaller gardens.

How to grow
Start seeds indoors 3 to 4 weeks before last frost, or direct sow 1/2 to 1 inch deep once soil reaches 70°F. Grow in full sun in loam or sandy soil high in organic matter with even, heavy water and a pH of 6.0 to 7.0. For storage, harvest fully mature fruit leaving 4 to 6 inches of stem, then cure in a warm, dry spot for 1 to 2 weeks.
Flavor profile
Sweet, thick, and fine-grained with stringless yellow flesh, the classic taste for homemade pumpkin pie. It cooks down smooth for purees and soups.
