Scarlet Nantes Carrot Seeds (Organic)
Scarlet Nantes is an organic heirloom carrot (Daucus carota var. sativus) known for vibrant orange, nearly coreless roots that are crisp and sweet. The cylindrical, blunt-ended roots grow about 6 to 7 inches long with fine-grained red-orange flesh and smooth skin that needs little peeling. High in beta-carotene, it holds its sweetness even after storage.

How to grow
Direct sow 1/4 to 1/2 inch deep in loose, well-draining soil in full sun once soil reaches 45 to 85°F. Keep evenly moist during the 6 to 20 day germination, then thin seedlings to 2 to 3 inches apart so roots can size up. Harvest at 65 to 75 days, or earlier for tender baby carrots.
Flavor profile
Sweet, crisp, and tender with a high sugar content and no woody core. Scarlet Nantes stays sweet and free of bitter aftertaste, making it a standout raw, juiced, or cooked.
